• Friday: leaving after work means the Expressway at its busiest. If you can leave by early afternoon, the drive is far calmer.

• Sunday: a mid-afternoon departure tends to land in the heaviest return traffic. Either leave after a late lunch and accept a slower drive, or leave early and treat the morning as part of the trip.
