Why Alibaug tourism in the monsoon is genuinely good
Most people picture Alibaug in the dry, bright months — beaches, boat rides, sunburn. But ask anyone who has stayed through the rains, and they will tell you a secret: the monsoon is when Alibaug is at its most beautiful.
The hills turn an impossible green. The forts — Kolaba, Murud-Janjira — rise out of grey, churning sea like something from a story. The air smells of wet earth and salt. And because the crowds thin out, you get the place almost to yourself.
Days move slowly. You watch the rain from a covered verandah with a cup of chai. You walk the empty beaches between showers. You eat hot, simple Konkani food. There is nothing to rush toward and nothing to miss.
A few practical notes: pack light rain gear, expect the occasional ferry to pause in rough weather (the road route via Pen always works), and book a stay with good covered outdoor space — it makes all the difference. Do that, and monsoon Alibaug rewards you with the kind of quiet the dry season never quite manages.

Our Alibaug villas come with walled gardens and sheltered verandahs — made for watching the rain. Tell us your dates and we will find the right one.
