The beach is wide, long and walkable, the water sports operators cluster at one end, and the residential belt behind it is quiet enough that you can hear the sea from most of it. For anyone who wants a beach holiday in the ordinary sense of the phrase, this is the part of the coast to book.

What to Expect
Nagaon works well for mixed groups because the beach absorbs different intentions. Parasailing, jet skis and banana boats run from the main strip in season; a fifteen-minute walk in the other direction gets you sand with nobody on it. That means the teenagers and the people who came to read can both be satisfied without a negotiation.
Two practical notes. First, "beachfront" is used loosely across this coast — most properties, ours included, are a short walk from the sand rather than opening onto it, so check the map before you assume. Second, the sea here is not lifeguarded end to end and is genuinely unsafe during the monsoon; treat June to September as a season for the view rather than for swimming.
Weekends are the constraint, not availability in general. Nagaon fills first for the long weekends between October and February, and the December window goes months ahead.
