Get in touchKashid has the best sand on this coast, and most people who have driven the Alibaug–Murud road will tell you so without being asked. It is a clean white crescent between two headlands, backed by hills rather than by development, and it looks less like the Konkan and more like somewhere considerably further south.
The trade-off is distance. Kashid sits well past Alibaug town, so the drive from Mumbai is longer than to Mandwa or Nagaon, and it is not a one-night destination unless you leave very early. Two nights is the minimum that makes the road worth it. Three is better.

Kashid is a swimming and walking beach first. The sand is soft and the crescent is long enough that even on a busy Sunday you can walk out of the crowd in ten minutes. It rewards people who want to actually be on a beach rather than near one.
It suits couples, small families and anyone whose idea of a good weekend involves reading outdoors and eating well without a schedule. It suits large celebration groups less well simply because we hold one house here — for a big booking, Nagaon or the wider Alibaug villa list gives you room to move.
Note that the sea here has a reputation for currents in places and is not lifeguarded along its length. Swim where other people are swimming, and treat the monsoon months as look-but-do-not-enter.
